So your turn- what do you fall for? Stop pointing out each other's faults and take apart your own. Thats how a critical thinker goes about it.
Are you one?
(Oooh, wasn't that a cool way to end a post? I'ts all dramatic and shit. I feel like I could write a Watchtower article... but like, except really intereting 'n stuff.)

Thanks BA.
Nice to know we have something in common.
You didn't become atheist overnight did ya?
Seriously bro, thanks for the positive reminder.
Open Mind
You're welcome , Open Mind.
Nope, not a trace of atheism in these red-blooded veins.
Profound words, music and scenery, I believe, allow us to transcend our sometimes pessimistic outlook and aspire to be more optimistic.
There is a meaning to life, a point to it all.
It's not a pointless life, and it has meaning now and forevermore.
BA- Enjoy life, always strive to do our best, hope to live forever.
PS- More thought-provoking words about life:
Ithaca
When you start on your journey to Ithaca,
Then pray that that road is long,
Full of adventure, full of knowledge,
Do not fear the Lestrygonians
And the Cyclops and the angry Poseidon.
You will never meet such as these on your path,
If your thoughts remain lofty, if a fine
Emotion touches your body and your spirit,
If your soul does not raise them up before you.
Then pray that the road is long,
That the summer mornings are many,
That you will enter ports seen for the first time
With such pleasure, with such joy!
Stop at Phoenician markets,
And purchase fine merchandise,
Mother-of-pearl and corals, amber and ebony,
And pleasurable perfumes of all kinds,
Visit hosts of Egyptian cities,
To learn and learn from those who have knowledge.
Always keep Ithaca fixed in your mind.
To arrive there is your ultimate goal.
But do not hurry the voyage at all.
It is better to let it last for long years;
And even to anchor at the isle when you are old,
Rich with all that you have gained along the way,
Not expecting that Ithaca will offer you riches.
Ithaca has given you the beautiful voyage.
Without her you would never have taken the road.
But she has nothing more to give you.
And if you find her poor, Ithaca has not defrauded you.
With the great wisdom you have gained, with so much experience,
You must surely have understood by then what Ithacas mean

LOL!
I kid my brothers in the one true faith!
Lol!
nvrgnbkism:
1. The habit of voluminous cutting and pasting of articles from all over the internet that include other's logical fallacies. Example:" that guy is afflicted with nvrgnbkism, he cuts and pastes everything that he reads onto <internet forum> without realizing it 's full of logical fallacies".
2. The habit of voluminous cutting and pasting of articles from all over the internet without summarizing what the purpose of the cut and paste job was supposed to prove or disprove, etc.
BA- Lol, jus' havin' a little fun with wit' my liddle buddy!

Incredibly well written, upbeat, and profound poem about life by Max Ehrmann,
combined with incredibly powerful music by Samuel Barber,
combined with awesome scenery,
equals truly moving message for all humanity.
I find the presentation above always picks me up when I'm feeling down,
and moves me to strive to be a better person in everyway.
Just wanted to share it with everyone.
BA- Peace.

Yep, there are plenty of logical fallacies that crop up on JWD on a regular basis.
In order to construct a logical argument, it is imperative to understand what these logical fallacies are. It is just as important, however, to understand what they are not. I've seen numerous replies that demonstrate a fundamental misunderstanding what is and is not a logical fallacy.
Based on observation, the use of logical fallacies, as well as misunderstandings of what they are and are not, coupled with lack of reading comprehension, can generally be ascribed to the non-theists on JWD. Ok, ok, there are a smattering of folks on both sides of the belief spectrum.
For ehjumuhkasionuhl purposes, I provide the following:

Hadn't ever seen any of these in the wild around these parts until 1995, when the first nesting pair in a long time moved in:
BA- Nowadays, I see Bald eagles around here on a regular basis.

I don't have to feed 'em, there's enough food around for 'em to eat.
Plenty of dead deer and varmints all around.
Some get hit by vehicles, others die after a bad marksman doesn't hit them in the right place.
Here's a bird I see often (Turkey Vulture) feeding on a carcass:

While still in, I (and others) spent years openly questioning the beliefs in light of obvious differences with Scriptural teachings, to which there were of course never any answers.
I (and others) then spent years openly criticizing those teachings to the many who would listen, using Scriptures to prove that the JWs were in error.
I finally left when I realized that "the truth" didn't care about the truth, but rather what some delusional bunch of old fogeys in Brooklyn NY had invented as their brain-washing propaganda to fleece the flock and prevent their flock's salvation through Christ.
That was around 9 years ago. Two others left at the same time. Then more. And more.
Me and one of the others who left at the same time are now called "the worst of apostates" because, ironically, we chose to follow the Bible's teachings rather than those of the men in Crooklyn. We are blamed for nearly everyone who exits the JWs around these parts. But it's really just more people waking up to JW lies.

Was Galileo's scientific discoveries ''junk science'' , BA?
Afterall his theories and discoveries about astronomy are shown to signifigantly differ from the scriptures.
Red Herring.
His conclusions in no way were "signifigantly differ from the scriptures".
This misunderstanding was caused by human ignorance and misapplied authority, not a correct understanding of Scripture.
Same is true of the crusades.
And the current US administration's actions while claiming they are "Christian".
BA- There's a differrence between talking the talk and walking the walk.
PS- I'd rather see a sermon than hear one, any day.
